Meet the Owner

Sara learned to design and frame while attending Cornish College of the Arts during her senior year. She began her framing career in the same store she owns today, Artisan Custom Framing, under the mentorship of Ellen, the previous owner. Sara quickly fell in love with the artistic aspects of framing. After graduating with her BFA, majoring in painting and printmaking, Sara worked in various custom frame shops. Over the years, she has refined her craft through a hands on approach designing and framing an extensive variety of art mediums. In October 2016, Sara took over ownership of Artisan Custom Framing. Sara is passionate about art and framing and it shows in the quality and care she exhibits from design to finished piece.

Sara had the wonderful opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy for a semester while attending Cornish. Her love and appreciation for art blossomed during this time. Sara was swept off her feet with the delight of travel and history. She now loves to explore the world experiencing all of the beautiful things it has to offer. Her love of travel meshes perfectly, with framing cultivating her creativity with each design opportunity. She can quickly get wrapped up in a conversation with you about the details and history of the art you chose to frame. In addition to Sara, Artisan Custom Framing has a great team of passionate, experienced custom framers with various artistic backgrounds that can help you with all your framing needs from design to finished project.
